What is the ATP-SE?
The ATP was KWA’s first original training pistol design. The 2016 ATP-SE takes that platform and builds it for the airsoft player who wants an edge: a semi and full auto selector, a ported outer barrel look and a threaded barrel feature for players who want to add a mock suppressor.
A polymer lower frame and an aluminum alloy slide keep it light. The accessory rail takes lights and lasers, three-dot sights help you get on target fast, and interchangeable back straps let you set the grip to fit your hand. It fits a wide range of holsters.

How the ATP-SE works
Semi or full auto
The selector switches the ATP-SE between semi-auto, one BB per trigger pull, and full auto, which keeps firing at 15+ rounds per second while you hold the trigger.
Full auto uses gas faster and cools the magazine. Rotate magazines and let them warm up between strings.
Which magazines to use
The ATP-SE takes ATP series magazines. It comes with one ATP 23-round magazine, and the ATP Series 48-round magazine fits for longer strings.
Filling a green gas magazine
Green gas is stored in the magazine, and each shot uses some of it to fire the BB and cycle the slide.
- Hold the magazine upside down and the green gas can upside down and vertical.
- Press the can straight down onto the magazine fill valve until it stops taking gas.
- Load BBs, insert the magazine and you are ready.
- Gas cools as you shoot. Let magazines warm up between strings and keep them out of direct sunlight.
Which BBs to use
KWA recommends 0.20g or 0.25g BBs with its gas blowback pistols. Use quality, seamless 6mm BBs, such as KWA 0.20g Bio BBs or KWA 0.25g Bio BBs.
Change the hop-up whenever you change BB weight.
Hop-up, explained
Hop-up puts backspin on the BB so it lifts and flies flatter and farther. Too little and BBs drop early. Too much and they climb.
- Start with the hop-up at its lowest setting.
- Fire a few shots at a target at your usual distance.
- Add a little hop at a time until BBs fly flat before they drop.
- Back it off if BBs start to rise. Re-check whenever you change BB weight.
ATP-SE care and parts
- Put a drop of silicone oil on the magazine seals now and then to keep them sealing well.
- Store gas magazines in a cool, dry place and never in direct sunlight or a hot car.
- Check feed lips and seals before each game, and do not drop magazines on hard surfaces.
- Wipe the gun down after each game and keep the inner barrel and hop-up bucking clean.
- Use silicone oil only. Avoid petroleum lubricants on seals and rubber parts.
