What is the M4A1 E.T.R.?
In 2024, MilSim West came to KWA with an idea: a rifle built to stand up to the demands of their events while keeping KWA’s performance and reliability. The result is Project Task Force, and the M4A1 E.T.R. is the first rifle in the KWA Task Force Line.
It is built for MilSim West events, casual skirmishes and force-on-force training, with a classic M4A1 design and KWA’s recoil system. Each rifle is assembled and tested in the United States by KWA technicians, with quality checks before it ships.
The bundle is a full loadout: six cut-off magazines, an extra 30-round GI style magazine, an 11.1v LiPo battery and a black flash hider, so you can pick it up and take it straight to the field.

How the M4A1 E.T.R. works
The Kinetic Feedback System
KWA’s electronic recoil system replicates the movement of a reciprocating bolt, so you feel a kick with every shot while keeping the reliability of an AEG.
In semi-auto every shot kicks. In full auto it adds a rhythm you can feel at 18+ rounds per second.
How the cut-off works
When the magazine runs empty, the cut-off gearbox stops the rifle from firing. Insert a fresh magazine, disengage the mock bolt catch and keep going.
It builds reload muscle memory for training and games.
Which magazines to use
Standard M4 AEG magazines work in this rifle. To use the cut-off, run KWA’s designated cut-off magazines: the K120C or MS120C.
The included MS120C adjusts between a 30-round setup for training and a full 120-round load for games.
Charging the included battery
The bundle includes a KWA 11.1v 1400mAh LiPo battery. Charge it only with a charger made for Li-Po batteries, and disconnect it from the rifle when you are not playing.
Hop-up, explained
Hop-up puts backspin on the BB so it lifts and flies flatter and farther. Too little and BBs drop early. Too much and they climb.
- Start with the hop-up at its lowest setting.
- Fire a few shots at a target at your usual distance.
- Add a little hop at a time until BBs fly flat before they drop.
- Back it off if BBs start to rise. Re-check whenever you change BB weight.

M4A1 E.T.R. care and parts
- Disconnect the battery whenever you are not using the rifle.
- Charge with a charger made for your battery type (NiMH or Li-Po/Li-Fe).
- Keep the inner barrel and hop-up bucking clean if accuracy drops.
- Wipe the rifle down after each game and check screws and the rail before you play.
